If you want to prevent only a few programs from accessing the Internet, you do not need to disconnect the device from the power supply. The Windows firewall can do it for you. Here’s what you can do.
Step one: Press the Windows +I key on your keyboard to open the Windows settings.
Step two: Look for the Windows firewall. In the search results, click Allow the application through the firewall.
Step three: Click on the Change settings button to change the firewall settings.
Step four: Find the application or software you want to disable and select the Public and Private check boxes.
Step Five: Click OK to save your changes.
The selected application/software can no longer access the Internet from your computer.

You can also log out completely if you wish.
Step one: Press the Windows +I key on your keyboard to open the Windows settings.
Step two: Click on Network and Internet.
Step three: Click the Change Adapter Settings button.
Step four: In the Network Connections window, right-click on the active network and click Disconnect.
This will disable your internet connection until you return to the network settings and then reactivate it.
You can also activate the flight mode on your PC. The hidden option in the middle of the options is very handy if you’re looking for a quick way to get offline. If you work with a laptop, you probably also have a flight mode button on your keyboard.
Remember, airplane mode works the same way as phone mode, meaning your device will turn off all communication devices and you will also be disconnected from the network.

If you cannot access any of the above options, you can also download a third-party tool to temporarily disable the Internet on your computer. Programs such as Net Blocker or Surf Blocker can be used for this purpose.
For the purpose of this article, we will be using Net Blocker. It can be downloaded for free and works with almost all versions of Windows.
The software is quite easy to use. Once you’ve started, select the option that suits you best and click Apply Settings. The Internet connection is then interrupted until you return to the program and turn the Internet back on.
